What Are the Restore Games?

RESTORE Logo (1) (1).png

Restore Games is an annual community event rooted in youth violence prevention. We convene local schools, camps, nonprofits, and city partners to deliver hands-on sports clinics, mentorship by age group, and direct access to family resources and services. The goal is to strengthen protective factors, connect youth to caring adults, and celebrate a culture of safety and belonging in Birmingham.

RESTORE BIRMINGHAM

The City proposes a community-based initiative to prevent and intervene in youth violent criminal activity, while providing trauma-informed support and resources to better prepare justice-involved youth seeking to re-enter academic or workforce environments as law-abiding residents.

To every Resource Partner and Volunteer, thank you for bringing Restore Games to life. Partners transformed the arena into a real-time Resource Hub—mentoring sign-ups, mental-health connections, education and jobs information, family support, and more. Volunteers set the tone for the entire day—greeting families, guiding youth, supporting clinics, and keeping everything safe and organized.

What Your Service Achieved

  • Access: OVER 20 organizations on site; families left with contacts and concrete next steps

  • Capacity: 100+ volunteers ensured a smooth, welcoming experience throughout the venue

  • Outcomes: OVER 400 youth engaged in skills and mentorship sessions

Because of you, Restore Games is not just a single event—it’s a bridge to ongoing support and a stronger, safer community.

Want to be part of the impact next year? It’s free to be a Resource Partner, and we recruit 100+ volunteers. Email restoregamesbhm@gmail.com to learn more.

It is free to be a Resource Partner. If your organization serves youth or families—mentoring, mental health, education, jobs, health, housing, re-entry—join our on-site Resource Hub. We provide the audience; you provide on-the-spot services, sign-ups, and referrals. Partners receive table space, promotion, and direct connections with Birmingham families.

We mobilize 100+ volunteers each year to make Restore Games safe, welcoming, and smooth. Roles include check-in/registration, clinic station support, youth guides, hospitality, media, and setup/teardown. Training provided; shifts available; groups welcome. Your time creates real impact—every friendly face helps a young person feel seen, supported, and connected to resources.

Together, Let us Build a Safer, Stronger Community!
